Bruce Patterson, not to be confused with the Marvel artist, had a sparse pen stroke reminiscent of Jean Effel's. The sylphlike silhouettes of his pin-ups are unmistakable. From the 40's to the 60's, he was leading the newspaper column “The Cheering Section” in the Sunday Pictorial Review. It consisted of a couple of pages of jokes and cartoons with a few of his spot drawings added in. A collection of his cartoons “Best Cartoons of Bruce Patterson” was published in 1953. He also contributed to the “All About Girls” AVON cartoon book series from the 1950's and the “Girls for Men Only” collection of 1956.

“ And now 10 minutes off for sentimental nonsense.”

“She is so conceited she expects the moon to come to her.”
"She's invisible but modest.”
